SONC Supports Citywide Interim Control Ordinance for Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ)s

For — CF 24-0490. Citywide Interim Control Ordinance / Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ) / New Construction / 100 Percent Affordable Housing Projects

To City Council and City Planning Commission,

The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council (SONC) in a 15-0 vote adopted a position to support CF 24-0490. SONC supports a citywide interim control ordinance restoring the existing HPOZ discretionary review process. 

The adopted motion is as follows:

The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council supports the Interim Control Ordinance, CF 24-0490, presented by CM Yaroslavsky that will temporarily protect Historic designated areas from development under Executive Directive 1 (ED-1) until this directive becomes an Ordinance with guidelines that will protect HPOZs in their entirety and districts, buildings, and sites as a historical resource under a local, state, or federal designation.
