About SONC
The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council is the first level of your city government. We are not homeowner's association or a club; we are an important part of your city government. We are here to help Sherman Oaks. Board members are elected by the public and serve without pay. Do you have a city related question or problem? Contact us by using the contact form on our website, www.shermanoaksnc.org, or call (818) 503-2399. Board meetings are the 2nd Monday evening of most months. All meetings are open to the public. The Council files “Community Impact Statements”(CIS) with City agencies and the City Council on important pending issues. If you miss a meeting you can read the CIS or the minutes on the website after they have been approved the following month.

Potholes
In February SONC worked with the Department of Street Services to get more than 100 potholes filled. Our next pothole filling event will be this summer. We need your help to locate and map areas that need repair now. We can get twice as many potholes filled if crews can go directly to them; so EXACT information is needed.

This is what we need to know:

    1. If it's in the street, we need the EXACT street address it's in front of (not just the block).
    2. If it's in an alley, we need the EXACT address it's behind plus the two streets at the ends of the alley.
    3. If it's in an intersection, we need the two streets that cross.

Campo de Cahuenga
See the place where California became a state. Colonel John Fremont and Governor Pio Pico signed the treaty right here in the Valley following the Battle of Cahuenga. Memorabilia from the time is on display. This historic site will be open to the public Noon to 4PM June 3 and 17.
